Gangtok, Darjeeling and Pelling Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Your mountain journey begins with an NJP pickup followed by a beautiful 4.5-hour drive alongside the emerald-green Teesta River up into the hills. After checking into your hotel, spend a relaxed evening strolling down the pedestrian-only, brightly lit promenade of M.G. Marg. It is the perfect first night to absorb the fresh mountain air, browse local boutiques, and sit back at a cozy cafe to enjoy authentic Sikkimese food.
Day 2
Embark on a thrilling morning drive up winding alpine roads to witness the spectacular, sacred Tsomgo (Changu) Lake nestled at 12,400 feet. Continue further to pay respects at the New Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, an army shrine rich in local legend and military history. If your permits are secured and weather permits, you will drive right up to the crisp, high-altitude Indo-China border gates at Nathu La Pass.
Day 3
Dedicate this day to exploring the architectural and spiritual marvels of South Sikkim on a scenic day trip from Gangtok. First, visit Namchi’s sprawling Siddheshwar Dham (Char Dham), where a majestic 108-foot statue of Lord Shiva towers over beautifully detailed temple replicas. Afterward, drive over to Ravangla’s breathtaking Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal) to stroll through manicured eco-gardens framing a massive 130-foot copper Buddha monument.
Day 4
Check out from Gangtok early to begin a dramatic 6-hour journey deep into the raw, snow-capped landscapes of North Sikkim. Your driver will make leisurely sightseeing stops at the multi-tiered Bakthang Falls, the panoramic Singhik Viewpoint, and the roaring Naga Waterfall. Arrive by late afternoon in the peaceful, alpine village of Lachung (9,000 ft) to enjoy a cozy evening amidst apple orchards.
Day 5
Head out early into the spectacular Yumthang Valley (The Valley of Flowers) and travel further up to Zero Point (15,000 ft), where the civilian road ends against giant walls of snow. On your way back, stop to unwind at the natural Sulphur Hot Springs before grabbing a warm lunch in Lachung. From there, buckle in for a long, beautiful cross-country transition drive (~6.5 hours) directly to Pelling in West Sikkim.
Day 6
Spend your day discovering the rich history and high-altitude thrills of West Sikkim starting at the glass-bottomed Pelling Skywalk and the giant Chenrezig Statue. Visit the quiet, historic Pemayangtse Monastery before taking a beautiful pine forest hike to the stone walls of the 17th-century Rabdentse Ruins. End your sightseeing at the wish-fulfilling Khecheopalri Lake and the roaring, mist-heavy Kanchenjunga Waterfalls.
Day 7
Bid farewell to Sikkim as you take a 3-hour drive across the state border into the iconic British-era hill station of Darjeeling. Spend your afternoon visiting the rare Red Pandas at the Himalayan Zoological Park and exploring the historic Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI). In the evening, walk up to Chowrasta Mall Road and take the gentle, flag-lined trail up Observatory Hill to pray at the unique Mahakal/Mahadev Mandir, where Hindu and Buddhist shrines harmoniously coexist.
Day 8
Wake up at 4:00 AM to see a world-famous sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga from Tiger Hill, stopping at Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop on your way down. After a late breakfast, drive deep down the winding valley roads to explore the terraced steps of Barbotey Rock Garden. Continue just 3 km further down to Ganga Maya Park, where you can cross charming footbridges over mountain streams and enjoy a peaceful boat ride on its circular lake.
Day 9
Check out from Darjeeling and take a smooth, highly scenic 2.5-hour drive to the quiet, blossom-filled hills of Kalimpong. Spend your afternoon taking in the sweeping panoramic views from the top of Deolo Hill and visiting the famously haunted colonial Morgan House. Wrap up your day's tour by visiting the historic Durpin Monastery (Zang Dhok Palri Phodang) and browsing a local exotic cactus nursery.
Day 10
Enjoy a relaxed final breakfast overlooking the misty valley of Kalimpong while packing away your mountain tea and souvenirs. Your driver will meet you for a smooth, stress-free 2.5-hour downhill drive back to the plains, dropping you off directly at NJP Railway Station. You will arrive with plenty of time to board your train or flight back home, completing your grand Himalayan vacation.

Payments Terms
- To confirm your trip booking with Curated Routes, a 50% advance payment is required once the tour package is finalized. This advance helps us secure hotel reservations, transportation, permits, and other travel arrangements.
- The remaining payment schedule is as follows:
- 20% payment to be made 4–7 days before the trip start date.
- 20% payment to be made on the first day of the trip.
- The final 10% payment to be cleared at the end of the trip.
- For booking confirmation, all travelers are required to provide a valid government-issued identity proof (Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, etc.).
- As your bookings are confirmed, we will share the necessary travel vouchers and booking confirmations. A detailed final invoice will be provided upon completion of the trip.
